The Isle of Man Natural History & Antiquarian Society announces the publication of the long-awaited:
Rushen Abbey and the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the Isle of Man
by P J Davey and J R Roscow
The first in what is hoped will be a series of Monographs, this is a detailed and highly readable treatment of the dissolution of the monasteries in the Isle of Man, which special reference to the greatest of them, Rushen Abbey, providing a fascinating wealth of information and analysis on the last days of Manx monasticism.
The authors are the late Jim Roscom, who did do much work on the primary records both on and off the Island, and Dr Peter Davey, who led the excavations at Rushen Abbey and has made a substantial study of the written evidence.

Official Launch of the Monograph
The monograph was officially launched on Wednesday 7th December 2011, at Rushen Abbey, Ballasalla.
The Society’s Patron, His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor Mr. Adam Wood attended the launch, presentation and reception to celebrate the publication of the long-awaited monograph.
